• This component is engineered as a sacrificial safety element. Its primary purpose is to absorb impact energy through controlled deformation or failure, rather than remaining rigid. It is not designed to stay intact during an impact. If the slider were excessively hard and did not collapse as intended, impact forces would be transferred directly to critical motorcycle components such as the frame or primary case—parts that are significantly more expensive and difficult to repair.
• In addition, a damaged slider may develop sharp edges or fail to detach cleanly, which can cause it to catch on external objects and increase the risk of losing control.
  For your safety, any worn or damaged slider should be replaced immediately.
