Its design takes inspiration from the legendary Bell 500-TX, introduced in 1957 as an evolution of Bell’s original 500 and recognized as the first motorsports helmet to use an energy-absorbing EPS liner; in 1962, the 500-TX was also selected by New York’s Museum of Modern Art for its design significance. BornFree reinterprets that unmistakable period silhouette with a smooth, rounded egg-shaped shell, deep-cut sides, and a low-profile, close-to-the-head appearance designed to avoid the oversized “mushroom” look commonly associated with bulkier open-face helmets.
