Description

BornFree 50s 500TX-Inspired Low-Profile Fiberglass 3/4 Novelty Helmet

The BornFree 50s 500TX-Inspired Fiberglass 3/4 Novelty Helmet takes the classic proportions of early American open-face helmets and pushes them toward an even cleaner, more compact silhouette. Inspired by the early 500TX-era shape, this version features a fiberglass shell with a more rounded, egg-shaped crown, tighter facial contours, and carefully revised proportions that help the helmet sit visually closer to the head. Compared with the standard version, the fiberglass construction gives the shell a lighter, more refined feel while preserving the deep-cut 3/4 profile that defines the look. Two interior configurations are available: with EPS impact liner or without EPS, allowing customers to choose between different internal constructions while retaining the same vintage shell character. Multiple classic color options, black edge trim, front snap hardware, and a cowhide-style chin strap with steel D-rings complete the period-inspired presentation. Both versions are novelty / decorative helmets only. Neither version is safety certified, including the EPS-equipped version, and neither is intended for motorcycle road use.

Product Features

  • Fiberglass / FRP Shell – Uses a fiberglass outer shell for a lighter, more refined interpretation of the classic 500TX-inspired form.
  • Revised Egg-Shaped Profile – A rounder crown and smoother rear curvature create a cleaner early-’50s open-face silhouette.
  • Low-Profile, Close-to-the-Head Proportions – Tighter facial contours and a more compact shell help reduce the oversized “mushroom” appearance common to bulkier 3/4 helmets.
  • Deep-Cut 3/4 Shape – Extended side coverage and narrower cheek-area proportions reinforce the classic early American open-face look.
  • Two Interior Configurations – Available with EPS impact liner or without EPS, while maintaining the same exterior shell styling.
  • Lightweight Vintage Construction – Fiberglass construction and revised shell proportions emphasize a lighter, slimmer presentation.
  • Classic 500TX-Inspired Details – Front snap hardware, black edge trim, and a vintage-style chin strap preserve the period-correct visual character.
  • Multiple Color Options – Offered in several classic finishes for Chopper, Bobber, vintage V-Twin, and custom motorcycle styling.
  • Novelty / Decorative Use Only – Both EPS and non-EPS versions are non-certified and intended only for collection, display, photography, and styling. Not for motorcycle road use.
